I recently read the book The Uglies by Scott Westerfield. I thought that it was very action-packed, and should only be read by thought provoking people. The plot is this: The main character, Tally, lives in a world where "ugly" people (or, normal looking people) and seperated from the "pretty" people (people who look like supermodels). At age 16, everyone turns into a "pretty". When it is the summer before Tally's 16th birthday, she meets an exotic friend named Shay. Shay has new ideas, like not getting the operation. So, when Shay runs away, to a town with only Uglies, Tally is sent to find her, by the Specials. When she gets there, she decides to stay, and not activate the device the Specials made for her. The device would send the Specials a message telling them to go where it was activated. Little does she know, when Tally throws the device into the fire, she sets it off. Sadly, she is captured, as with the other Uglies. She escapes, and is sent on a mission to expose a hidden truth. At the end, she says, "Make me a pretty." There are two onther books in the series, The Pretties and the last, The Specials.

I really loved Dave at Night!
A wonderful girl at my son’s and daughter’s school lent us a book we thoroughly enjoyed called The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Have you read it? It was a long journey and ultimately a life lesson for Edward, which brought him back home, where he found his heart.
